“50/60hz”this installation arises from a collaboration with albert tarrats in which the idea of murray schafer the tuning of the world, in which he says that the world generates a constant whisper coming from the electronic devices that we use. 60 hz on one hemisphere and 50hz on the other. to materialize this idea, two microwave transformers were used and turned into electromagnets attached to two steel sheets that function as loudspeakers, vibrating one at 50hz and the other at 60hz. in the center of the two plates you could hear the latency obtained from these two frequencies, as if you were in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean listening to the world from a hot air balloon.
Materials: iron sheets, square tube, copper coil, two microwave transformers, 20 W stereo amplifier.
