The installation consists of a 4:3 ice block with a retoprojection that melts throughout the day. As water drips onto piezoelectric sensors beneath the screen, aquatic sounds and projected textures are generated in real time with Pure Data, deaccelerating the experience of every droplet. In Timothy Morton’s sense, these phase transitions unfold across temporal scales that exceed human perception, yet for a moment, the viewer can attend to each drop as it falls.
