“not to die in the attempt” this exhibition, made in collaboration with emilia del valle, is the result of the escritorio de procesos residency in mexicali, mexico 2014. during this period we carried out several performative exercises around the desert and emergency, starting from accounts of experiences in this natural environment where the sense of orientation is lost. while there we heard stories of people walking in circles, lost in the desert, and of how hostile this territory can be where there is a real risk of dying trying to get out of it. we thought about and executed emergency situations and acts as ways to communicate or to try to survive. then all this material (drawings, videos, objects) was assembled as a visual archive of the experience.
