“the reproductive system” the audio installation features a tape loop composed of a collage of sounds. these were recorded during a performance that fictionalized the assembly of a homemade bomb, specifically one constructed from a fire extinguisher. for me, the arrangement of the electronic components evokes an assembly line, creating a contrast between industrialized military production and the artisanal process, use of tools, materials, etc., captured on tape.
the piece was presented as part of a commemoration of the bombing of granollers, spain in 1938.
