el aparato reproductor is an audio installation built around a five-metre magnetic tape loop. The tape carries a sound collage recorded during a staged assembly of a homemade bomb constructed from a fire extinguisher, cut and rearranged using the technique associated with William Burroughs’ The Electronic Revolution.
Arranged like an assembly line, the electronic components evoke industrialised military production, contrasting with the improvised, handmade process of assembly captured on tape. The work was presented as part of a commemoration of the 1938 bombing of Granollers.
