An icosahedral ice block, the solid assigned to water, melts onto a heated iron tetrahedron, the solid assigned to fire, invoking a rationalist elemental system rooted in Platonic geometry. The sound of each falling drop is processed through granular synthesis, introducing entropy and chance into these fixed categories, while recorded interactions between water and fire enter the sonic composition. Rather than simply opposing the elements, hydro-edros II reveals the complexity of their material relationship.
